SailFish while snook fishing
Reported by Captain Jeff Maggio
Snook fishing off Fort Lauderdale has been weird as of late. They have not stacked up in the inlets very well, looks like they are already off shore. We were searching for them off Fort Lauderdale beach when we started to see sailfish just offshore from us. These sailfish were shallow in about 30 feet off water. We picked up and headed out about 100 yards. There were sailfish packed up in big schools eating sardines. We through some live chum in the water and we had about 6 eating around the boat. It was really cool to see them on the surface picking off the bait. We were able to sight cast to them. Soon we had a double on and pulled the hook on the triple. Its been crazy out there!
