Well, what can I say, when Jeff “the Dog” Maggio says “this is unbelievable!” you gotta wonder…this was only my second trip with the Dog and what a time we had. THe action began as soon as we dropped our first lines in the water! We tied up two juvenile tarpon at the same time! It was pademonium from the get-go! We landed both tarpon, took some photos, released them and got right back to work. Jeff said that we were the luckiest fishermen he has ever encountered, only our second trip and we boated the elusive tarpon once again, we are two for two! The remaining portion of our trip was spent snook frishing, we brought in a lunker, just at the leagal limit. Scott had a sushi chef in Fort Lauderdale dress it out and he and his wife feasted on snook sushi for the next two days! One more story, I have caught my share of mangrove snapper over the years but I gaotta tell you, when Scott broght that freak into the boat it shocked all of us. I have never seen a mangrove snapper that big, we were all joking that it must be a freak of nature but we would eat it anyway…The sushi chefs dressed that snapper out as well and I heard that it was almost a tie between the snook and snapper sushi!
