What started as a two day R and R trip quickly became a trip of a lifetime thanks to Captain Jeff Maggio! For two days we fought 80-140 lb tarpon with the magnifcent view of the Miami skyline always in view. The skill and knowledge Jeff displayed shows why he has to be the person to charter if you want to catch tarpon like you never dreamed possible.

This area has to be one of sport fishing’s best kept secrets and Captain Jeff has it down to a tee. In only two evenings we boated 6 tarpon from 80-140 lbs and lost that many more. We were so worn out from fighting fish we were both glad we didn’t hook another one the last hour as neither of us thought he had enough in the tank for another 1 hour battle! (Oh what a feeling! )

Jeff is the most proficient guide I have ever had the pleasure to share a boat with as he keeps up with where the fish are, what they are feeding on, the best way to fish for them, all the while coaching and encouraging the angler to make sure they have the best shot at a fish of a lifetime! (Plus he is a nice guy!) We would highly recommend using Jeff if you want to fish for quality fish, with a quality guide, who will do his best to make sure your trip is as successful as possible. (He still can’t seem to stop someone from jerking while using circle hooks!
