Dakota and his dad explained to me that they are into big game hunting and the outdoors. When they got on the boat, I said to myself I really want this kid to experience a nice tarpon so he can feel the rush. Well the day started a little slow with some cut offs from barracuda and a few short strikes by tarpon but it was slow going. Dakota hung in there until the fish started to get a little more aggressive. He got a couple of shot but was only able to get a jump out of them. This kid kept his game face on and this nice fish gave him a great fight on 12 lb test.
We got a quick shot and let the tarpon live to fight another day.
